Position Overview:

The Senior Patient Services Specialist plays a pivotal role in the coordination and support of various patient care services, ensuring a seamless experience for patients at Providence Health & Services. This position requires a high degree of independence in managing a diverse range of administrative tasks related to patient care.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage scheduling for new patients, follow-up appointments, ongoing treatments, and necessary diagnostic evaluations.
  • Conduct insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations efficiently.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive medical records for patients.
  • Address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Handle multiple phone lines and prioritize calls effectively.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of Oncology administrative training within six months of employment.
  • Medical Terminology Certification or completion of a Medical Terminology course within six months of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Proficient in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree with a focus on Health Care or equivalent education/experience.
