Information Systems Security Officer for Enterprise Infrastructure

Peraton is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) within our Cyber Mission division. This role is integral to supporting a significant enterprise-wide engineering initiative within the Intelligence Community. The position entails a commitment of 1880 hours annually, with work conducted at our designated office location. As an ISSO, you will be tasked with enhancing the information assurance framework for a program, organization, system, or enclave. This includes the development, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain the operational security posture of an information system or program, ensuring adherence to established security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Evaluate security solutions to verify compliance with security requirements for classified information processing.
- Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to facilitate certification and accreditation processes.
- Prepare and review essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices.
- Support security authorization activities in alignment with customer Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills:
Applicants must possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, which should encompass at least three (3) of the following domains: familiarity with contemporary security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, and encryption techniques or tools. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution is mandatory. Compliance with DoD 8570 standards at Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is also required. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Experience in supporting NISCAP and DIACAP processes.
- Act as the approval authority for Information Systems.
- Prior experience as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
- Proven track record in planning and coordinating IT Security Programs and Policies.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance and risk regulations.
- Experience in developing System Security Plans (SSPs).
- Demonstrated ability to complete System Certification and Accreditation.
- Experience with vulnerability and risk assessment analysis, along with the development of security protocols.
- Familiarity with customer infrastructure is essential.
- Flexibility in work schedule is required.
- This position necessitates a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.

Compensation
The typical salary range for this position is $146,000 - $234,000, reflecting the expected compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
