Peraton is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) within our Cyber Mission sector. This role is critical in supporting a significant enterprise-wide engineering initiative within the Intelligence Community. The position demands a commitment of 1880 hours annually, with responsibilities centered at our operational office.
Key Responsibilities
As an ISSO, you will:
- Oversee and enhance the information assurance program for a designated program, organization, system, or enclave.
- Develop, coordinate, and enforce security policies, standards, and methodologies to safeguard information systems.
- Maintain the operational security posture of information systems, ensuring compliance with established security policies and procedures.
- Evaluate security solutions to confirm their adequacy for processing classified information.
- Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to facilitate certification and accreditation processes.
- Prepare and review essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, and Certification and Accreditation packages.
- Support security authorization activities in alignment with established certification and accreditation processes.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
Applicants must possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, including expertise in at least three of the following areas:
- Proficiency with current security tools and hardware/software security implementations.
- Understanding of communication protocols and encryption techniques.
- Experience in supporting NISCAP and DIACAP processes.
- Ability to serve as the approval authority for Information Systems.
- Experience in planning and coordinating IT Security Programs and Policies.
- Knowledge of compliance and risk regulations.
- Experience in developing System Security Plans (SSPs).
- Demonstrated capability in completing System Certification and Accreditation.
- Familiarity with vulnerability and risk assessment analysis.
- Understanding of customer infrastructure and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
Additionally, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution, or possess four (4) years of additional experience in lieu of a degree. Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is also required. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory for this position.
