Information Systems Security Officer for Enterprise Infrastructure

Peraton is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our Cyber Mission division. This role involves providing critical support for a major enterprise-wide engineering initiative within the Intelligence Community. The ISSO will be responsible for overseeing the information assurance program of a designated program, organization, system, or enclave. This includes the formulation, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
As an ISSO, your duties will encompass:
- Maintaining the operational security posture of information systems to ensure compliance with established security policies and standards.
- Evaluating security solutions to confirm they meet the necessary requirements for processing classified information.
- Conducting vulnerability and risk assessments to facilitate certification and accreditation processes.
- Preparing and reviewing essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, and Certification and Accreditation packages.
- Supporting security authorization activities in alignment with customer certification and accreditation processes.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience is essential, with expertise in at least three of the following areas:
- Proficiency in current security tools and hardware/software security implementations.
- Understanding of communication protocols and encryption techniques.
- Experience with NISCAP and DIACAP processes.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is mandatory. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional experience may substitute for the degree.
Essential Skills:
To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate:
- Experience as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
- Capability to plan and coordinate IT Security Programs and Policies.
- Familiarity with customer compliance and risk regulations.
- Experience in developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and conducting security protocol assessments.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Possession of TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Compensation
The typical salary range for this position is between $146,000 and $234,000, reflecting the expected compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
