The Industrial Technical Sales Specialist will spearhead technical sales initiatives and drive the specification of Velcro brand products within designated B2B industry sectors, aiming to enhance revenue, profitability, and market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead application engineering and business development efforts in sectors such as construction, solar, packaging, and apparel.
2. Formulate and implement a strategic technical sales growth plan to achieve substantial revenue targets.
3. Engage with customer engineering and program management leaders to integrate Velcro brand products into their product designs.
4. Oversee lead qualification and manage all stages of opportunity management to successfully introduce Velcro brand products into new applications.
5. Conduct commercial negotiations and manage accounts for assigned clients.
6. Collaborate with Velcro engineering and project management teams to ensure flawless quality, timely delivery, and optimal profitability throughout the project lifecycle from concept to production.
7. Provide regular updates on commercial activities within the sales pipeline.
8. Develop and execute technical proposals and specification activities for hook and loop fasteners and adhesive tape products targeting North American industrial markets.
9. Coordinate with global customer accounts alongside Velcro teams in Europe, Asia, and South America.
10. Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to support business reviews with clients.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in technical sales or application engineering within industrial B2B markets is required.
Experience with the specification of technical products, particularly in cutting, sewing, laminating, sonic welding, fasteners, and adhesives, is highly desirable.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with experience in team-based projects, are essential.
Self-driven with the ability to collaborate closely with technical teams to create innovative solutions that lead to successful commercialization.
Proficiency in data-driven, value-based selling of technical solutions in manufacturing environments for B2B industrial sectors is crucial.
Ability to maintain a high level of activity and manage multiple projects effectively.
Strong motivation and results-oriented mindset are necessary.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software is preferred.
Willingness to travel domestically up to 40% of the time.
