About the Role

The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our front of house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Front of House Staff: Lead and manage a team of front of house staff, including student assistants, to ensure seamless delivery of customer service.
  • Resolve Scheduling Conflicts: Effectively resolve scheduling conflicts for the front of house team to ensure adequate coverage and minimize disruptions.
  • Cover for Front of House Managers: Provide coverage for front of house managers when they are out of the office, ensuring continuity of customer service.
  • Conduct Site Visits: Conduct after-hours site visits to ensure the security and safety of our facilities and artwork.
  • Field Inquiries and Complaints: Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Represent the Museum: Represent the University of Texas at Dallas with a high level of integrity and professionalism, embodying the values of our institution.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with at least two years of clerical or customer service work experience, preferably in a related field.
  • Customer Service Experience: Proven experience in customer service, reception, non-profit, security, or related fields is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with guests, staff, and management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to actively address difficult situations in a compassionate and friendly manner.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time on hard floors, bend down, and move between and within galleries. Reasonable accommodations will be given for accessibility purposes. Light-moderate lifting of no more than 40 pounds is required.
