Rehabilitation Therapy Patient Access Coordinator

PeaceHealth is in search of a Rehabilitation Therapy Patient Access Coordinator for a Part-Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position. The compensation range for this role is $29.90, with the hiring rate influenced by various factors such as education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Position Overview: This role is essential in facilitating the coordination of activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes. The coordinator acts as a clinical liaison with physician practices, engaging with pre-visit services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information is collected. Registration methods may vary based on location.
  • Handles collection of patient balances, co-payments, co-insurance, and other payment types.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and ensures compliance with all requirements, including obtaining prior authorizations and referrals as necessary.
  • Addresses customer inquiries effectively.
  • Provides assistance with departmental coverage as required.
  • Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve making reminder calls and contacting referrals.
  • May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
  • Handles incoming phone calls for the Emergency Department and may provide switchboard coverage.
  • Monitors alarm systems as needed.
  • May assist with departmental charge entry for Cardiac Rehabilitation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 1 year of required experience in a medical office or related customer service field.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage conflicts in a professional manner (Required).
  • Strong time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines (Required).
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills (Required).
