Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates the coordination of activities among scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes.
  • Acts as a clinical liaison with physician practices, ensuring smooth interactions regarding pre-visit services.
  • Pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information is collected.
  • Handles patient payments, including balances, co-payments, and co-insurance.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and ensures compliance with all necessary requirements, including prior authorizations and referrals.
  • Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve reminder calls and contacting referrals.
  • May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or related customer service field is required.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A strong background in customer service may substitute for medical office experience.
  • Ability to manage conflicts effectively and professionally is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines are required.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
