Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the coordination of activities among scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes.
- Acts as a clinical liaison with physician practices, ensuring smooth interactions regarding pre-visit services.
- Pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information is collected.
- Handles patient payments, including balances, co-payments, and co-insurance.
- Verifies insurance coverage and ensures compliance with all necessary requirements, including prior authorizations and referrals.
- Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve reminder calls and contacting referrals.
- May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or related customer service field is required.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A strong background in customer service may substitute for medical office experience.
- Ability to manage conflicts effectively and professionally is essential.
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines are required.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
