Compensation: The salary range for this position is $29.90, with the hiring rate influenced by various factors such as education, training, and relevant work experience.

Role Overview: The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in facilitating the coordination of activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes. This position acts as a vital link with physician practices, ensuring smooth pre-visit services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information is collected.
  • Manages patient payments, including balances, co-payments, and co-insurance.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and secures necessary prior authorizations and referrals before patient appointments.
  • Handles customer inquiries effectively.
  • Oversees daily appointment schedules, which may involve making reminder calls and contacting referrals.
  • May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
  • Manages incoming phone calls and may provide switchboard coverage as needed.
  • Monitors alarm systems and may assist with departmental charge entry.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year required: Experience in a medical office or related customer service field. Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. A strong background in customer service may substitute for medical office experience.

Ability to manage conflicts professionally and effectively is essential. Excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines are required. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are also necessary.
