Job Summary

The Keene Family YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Childcare Associate Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, enjoyable, and culturally aware environment that promotes wellness and engagement for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests, while exemplifying the Y's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the four-character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
  • Implement curriculum within established guidelines and assist with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans.
  • Supervise children, classroom, and all activities, making ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  • Conduct parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents, engaging them as volunteers.
  • Maintain program site and equipment, as well as required program records.
  • Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year).

Requirements
  • Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:
  • Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Health form completed within the 30 days of hire date; renewed every 3 years.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
