We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Childcare Assistant Teacher at the Keene Family YMCA. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing quality experiences to children and parents in a busy childcare center.

The Keene Family YMCA is a 501(c)3 charitable organization committed to strengthening our community through programs and services focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. We are seeking a cause-driven leader who believes in our mission and is passionate about building personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementing curriculum within established guidelines, promoting a safe and engaging learning environment for children.
  • Supervise children, classroom, and activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Maintain program site and equipment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assist with maintaining required program records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Build personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests, embodying the values of our organization.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, demonstrating a strong foundation in education and child development.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Health form completed within 30 days of hire date; renewed every 3 years, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • A desire to work with children in a developmental setting, showcasing your passion for early childhood education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working with children, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect, embodying the values of our organization.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • A certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience, showcasing your dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
