Job Description

As a Childcare Lead Teacher at the Keene Family YMCA, you will be responsible for providing direction and implementing program curriculum for our childcare program. You will create a positive environment that promotes youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living, while adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests
  • Implementing curriculum within established guidelines
  • Designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans
  • Supervising children, classroom, and all activities
  • Maintaining program site and equipment
  • Maintaining required program records
  • Attending and participating in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $16.8-$20.16, as well as a range of benefits, including health, dental, and life insurance options, generous PTO, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:
  • Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law; 18 ECE Credits
  • At least 21 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date

Preferred qualifications include a certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience, an associate degree or higher in ECE or equivalent, and 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
