Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Childcare Associate Teacher to join our team at the Keene Family YMCA. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, enjoyable, and culturally aware environment that promotes wellness and engagement for children.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests, while exemplifying the Y's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the four-character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
  2. Implement curriculum within established guidelines and assist with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans.
  3. Supervise children, classroom, and all activities, making ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  4. Conduct parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents, engaging them as volunteers.
  5. Maintain program site and equipment, as well as required program records.
  6. Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year).

Requirements

Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:

  1. Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.
  2. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  3. Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
  4. At least 18 years of age.
  5. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  6. Health form completed within the 30 days of hire date; renewed every 3 years.
  7. At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
