Childcare Program Director

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Childcare Lead Teacher to join our team at the Keene Family YMCA. As a key member of our childcare program, you will be responsible for providing direction and implementing program curriculum, while creating a positive environment that promotes youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities- Build personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests, while exemplifying the Y's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the four-character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
- Implement curriculum within established guidelines and design and implement daily lesson/activity plans that promote age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate learning.
- Supervise children, classroom, and all activities, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Conduct ongoing, systemic observations and evaluations of each child, and maintain required program records.
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training (18 hours per year).
- Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications: ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect; ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law; 18 ECE Credits; at least 21 years of age; CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date; health form completed within the 30 days of hire date; renewed every 3 years; at least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred; ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- PREFERRED LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS: certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience; associate degree or higher in ECE or equivalent; 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
