Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Marion County. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide assessment and treatment services to individuals and families, including crisis intervention and case management. This is a part-time position, eligible for overtime, with a typical work schedule of 5 days/8 hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and transition-age youth.
  • Conduct intake medical mental health assessments, including screening for substance use disorders.
  • Document services to meet contract, administrative rule, and billing requirements.
  • Provide consultation, training, and orientation regarding mental health and co-occurring disorders treatment to team members, student interns, and other professionals.
  • Assist clients and families with accessing community supports and resources.
  • Make referrals for services as needed.
Requirements
  • Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a behavioral science field, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon.
  • Second-year graduate students may be waived as Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) by the Oregon Health Authority.
  • Mental Health Therapist 2 only: In addition to the educational requirements above, the Mental Health Therapist 2 must have at least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Social Worker Associate (CSWA), or eligible for LCSW licensure.
Working Conditions
  • Operates a motor vehicle.
  • Sees using depth perception.
  • Sits, stands, moves about the work area, climbs 1 floor of stairs.
  • Operates a keyboard.
  • Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries up to 15 lbs.
  • Speaks with a clear and audible voice.
  • Reads a 12 pt. font.
  • Hears a normal speech level.
Benefits

Marion County offers a generous benefits package to regular employees working 50% or more of the regularly scheduled work week and their eligible dependents. Temporary employees and part-time regular employees working less than 50% of the regularly scheduled work week are not eligible for benefits.
