Job Title: Organ Donation Coordinator

At Oregon Health & Science University, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Organ Donation Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in coordinating all aspects of organ donation for transplant and research in our Cascade Life Alliance Donor Service Area hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate potential organ donors, communicating with donor families and directing clinical management of the organ donor.
  • Evaluate and place organs for transplant, coordinating the organ recovery process with transplant and medical teams.
  • Collaborate with the Donation and Family Advocate team to facilitate authorization or disclosure with the legal NOK and conduct a donor risk assessment interview with identified surrogates.
  • Provide real-time education to hospital staff about the donation process and collaborate with transplant centers and teams through the allocation and recovery process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree with a healthcare-related focus or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of recent relevant clinical or donation-related experience or equivalent.
  • Extensive clinical healthcare knowledge base, with the ability to quickly and independently exercise sound clinical judgment in an often stressful environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, flexible, highly motivated, and a good team member with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Board for Transplant Certification CPTC credential.
  • Organ procurement coordinator experience.
  • Direct patient care experience in a critical care environment.
