With a budget under one million, a dedicated team of six, and numerous active volunteers, our vibrant community encompasses donor families, living donors, hopeful transplant recipients, and a network of partners including recovery agencies and transplant centers, alongside over 3 million registered donors.

Our initiatives focus on engaging high school students, underserved populations, living kidney donation education, and raising community awareness.

Our Requirements:
DLNW is in search of a Chief Executive Officer who fully aligns with our mission, vision, and values.

As we transition from recent organizational changes, we are ready to build a solid foundation and create a strategic roadmap for enhanced fundraising and organizational growth.

In addition to a passion for fundraising, we seek a seasoned nonprofit leader capable of evaluating program effectiveness, fostering community partnerships, and providing actionable guidance to staff and board members.

DLNW promotes flexible work arrangements and recognizes the importance of work-life balance.

The CEO will oversee a team of five, including the Development Coordinator, Operations Director, Program Director, and their respective teams.


Success Metrics for the CEO:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of local and national donation issues.

Foster and expand a robust board of directors.

Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives and implement a strategic fundraising plan.

Collaborate with staff on program execution and assessment to enhance Donate Life Northwest's visibility in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
Board Engagement and Organizational Leadership

Ensure all programs, services, and outreach align with the organization's mission, values, and financial objectives.

Realign board policies, bylaws, and strategic plans with organizational goals.

Engage the board in the recruitment, training, and involvement of new members.


Work collaboratively with staff and board to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism within all organizational practices.

Serve as the primary representative and advocate for the organization to supporters, media, and the public.

Build and nurture relationships with diverse communities.

Organizational Oversight

In collaboration with the Operations Director:
Oversee staff hiring, training, supervision, and performance evaluations.

Ensure compliance with financial policies and support the completion of annual audits.

Develop annual budgets and revenue strategies.

In partnership with the Program Director:
Establish annual work plans and evaluation strategies for staff and programs.

Implement metrics for programmatic success.

Engage volunteers and contributors in community outreach.

With assistance from the Development Coordinator:
Formulate and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including grants, special events, and individual contributions.

Actively cultivate relationships with philanthropic supporters.

Establish meaningful, long-term partnerships with community stakeholders, contributors, and volunteers.

Qualifications:
5+ years of leadership and fundraising experience within a nonprofit or similar environment.

3+ years of direct management experience with staff and programs.

Proven success in fundraising from individuals, corporations, sponsorships, grants, and planned giving.

Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and contract management.

Demonstrated ability to implement strategic plans and manage organizational development and transitions.

Strong communication skills for engaging with community members, staff, board, and contributors through various channels.

Preferred Skills:
Interest in or connection with organ, eye, and tissue donation

Experience in public education

Community engagement through media, public speaking, and advocacy

Familiarity with fundraising data, performance metrics, and evaluation standards.
