Position Summary:


The Quality Control New Model Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring quality standards by leading and facilitating comprehensive process audits at suppliers and within SIA's manufacturing operations.

This engineer will assess parts, assemblies, processes, and finished vehicles at SIA and other facilities.

By identifying issues and optimizing production processes and equipment through root cause analysis, this role aims to meet SIA's safety, quality, output, and cost objectives.

The engineer is tasked with diagnosing production challenges and proposing effective solutions.

Evaluating processes and quality, the Quality Control New Model Engineer will recommend and implement modifications to equipment, work methods, and other production aspects to enhance quality and eliminate defects.


Key Responsibilities:

- Engage in the development of new models to ensure the quality of purchased parts, in-house manufacturing processes, and final vehicle quality.
- Lead root cause analysis initiatives with suppliers and various departments within SIA using the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology.
- Generate engineering reports and A3 format documentation.
- Interpret precision measurement data and relate it to overall vehicle performance concerns.
- Explore innovative data analysis methods to enhance quality.
- Maintain a comprehensive list of critical product and process indicators.
- Manage projects related to audits, follow-ups, scheduling, and completion.
- Conduct process audits to verify that process indicators are accurately monitored and maintained.

- Drive improvement plans to validate production processes, achieving departmental and plant targets for both new models and ongoing production.
- Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend corrective actions for identified issues.
- Create professional documentation to record and track measurement outcomes.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance capability indices (CP/CPK).
- Ensure adherence to best practices and methodologies for gauging activities.
- Evaluate part structures and implement Design Change Requests to optimize assembly processes.
- Guarantee that all necessary documentation is accurate and submitted promptly.


Travel may be required to fulfill the demands of the new model development cycle. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 5 or more years of related automotive manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering.
- Proven experience in utilizing data to resolve assembly challenges.
- Certifications such as ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar credentials.
