Job Overview
The Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy (PTCT) Clinical Service Nurse plays a vital role in delivering specialized clinical care and coordinating treatment for children aged 0-21 years who are candidates for bone marrow or stem cell transplantation. This position is crucial in enhancing the quality of care and outcomes for pediatric patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Expertise

  • Oversee the assessment of new patients and donors entering the pediatric transplant system.
  • Evaluate patient referrals for suitability and collaborate with medical professionals on donor availability.
  • Organize initial consultations and necessary diagnostic tests for patients.
  • Coordinate pre-transplant educational sessions covering essential topics related to the procedure.
  • Engage in discharge planning and follow-up care.
Education and Coaching
  • Identify educational needs of patients and families, providing guidance to navigate the healthcare system.
  • Develop and implement educational resources tailored to various learning needs.
  • Facilitate training for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Collaboration and Leadership
  • Foster collaborative relationships across departments to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving clinical practices and patient safety.
  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain high standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited BSN program.
License: Current unrestricted RN license recognized by the NCBON.
Experience: Minimum of one year of relevant clinical nursing experience is required.

Work Schedule
This position requires a full-time commitment with a Monday to Friday schedule, including potential weekend and holiday coverage.
