Job Summary:

Casa de Amparo is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young individuals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and guidance to youth in our residential program
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to promote the well-being and success of our residents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a safe and nurturing environment
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the overall mission and goals of Casa de Amparo

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must meet Casa de Amparo's Community Care Licensing requirements, including clearance by FBI, DOJ, and CACI
  • Must have one year of full-time experience working or volunteering in a residential treatment program, or a bachelor's degree, or 12 units in human development, child development, psychology, or a related subject, and 100 hours of experience working with youth
  • Must possess maturity, good judgment, and the ability to be a positive role model for youth ages 0-18
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and work shifts up to 10 hours in length
  • Must have ambulatory, auditory, and visual skills to observe and physically intervene with residents when required
  • Must be physically able to participate in activities and perform related physical skills
  • Must be able to comply with all employment requirements, including CPR/Pediatric First Aid, physical, tuberculosis, and drug screen clearance, and a clear DMV record and approval from insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles
  • Must provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles
  • English proficient (bilingual and bi-cultural preferred)
