Job Overview

This role is a hands-on supervisory position, where the selected candidate will collaborate with their team during overnight shifts from Wednesday to Saturday, ensuring operational efficiency and team support. The Veterinary Care Supervisor plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work atmosphere that encourages learning and teamwork, aimed at delivering exceptional patient care from admission through discharge. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a diverse range of cases in the Progressive Care Ward, including orthopedic, ophthalmic, cardiac, and oncology patients.
  • Manage the isolation ward for infectious cases, ensuring proper care and protocols are followed.
  • Provide mentorship and training to technicians, emphasizing patient advocacy and meticulous attention to detail.

Expected Salary:

$25-$30/hr (salary commensurate with experience and credentials). Eligible for additional shift differentials of 10%-30%.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree with two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience. Relevant coursework or vocational training may substitute for experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited veterinary technology program or certification as a veterinary technician.
  • 3-5 years of experience in veterinary medicine, with proficiency in medical terminology and essential technical skills.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities and a professional demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
