The University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position as a Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Veterinary Anatomic Pathology. This role is primarily focused on diagnostic pathology and will be based in a dynamic laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a diagnostic pathologist, handling a diverse caseload that includes companion animals, livestock, avian, and wildlife species.
- Engage with veterinarians, animal owners, and producers to provide diagnostic and consultative services.
- Participate in necropsy and biopsy service rotations, ensuring thorough examination and reporting of findings.
- Maintain open communication with clients throughout the diagnostic process.
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures in collaboration with laboratory management.
- Contribute to the training and mentorship of residents and laboratory staff.
- Stay current with scientific literature to enhance laboratory practices and diagnostic services.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree and have completed a residency in veterinary anatomic pathology. Board eligibility or certification from ACVP or ECVP is required. Experience in diagnostic procedures and the ability to independently manage cases is essential.
Preferred Skills:
While there are no specific preferred qualifications, a strong background in diagnostic pathology and research is advantageous.
