Your Responsibilities:

The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for generating, capturing, and safeguarding value for Clorox through the strategic oversight of the Fragrances and Flavors raw materials category. This category encompasses an estimated annual expenditure of $40M–$70M and plays a crucial role in enhancing product differentiation and consumer satisfaction.

Key Duties Include:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies for the Fragrances and Flavors raw material category across various brands and regions, emphasizing Cost, Supply Stability, Innovation, and Sustainability.
  • Identifying and executing initiatives to enhance value delivery throughout the expenditure portfolio.
  • Managing strategic supplier relationships by providing insights on optimizing supplier capabilities to fulfill business requirements.
  • Discovering continuous improvement opportunities to advance the category, including design to value, cost modeling, and process mapping while monitoring market trends and supplier competitiveness.
  • Collaborating with R&D to ensure that business needs are integrated into category strategies and executed effectively.
  • Addressing operational challenges as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of procurement experience in a global, matrixed environment, successfully managing strategic procurement for direct/raw materials categories, particularly in fragrances, flavors, or herbs/spices/essential oils.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Sensory Science, or related fields.
  • Experience in providing insights and updates to senior leadership, both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with Sourcing/Procurement tools and methodologies, including RFPs, Category Strategy development, Cost Models, Negotiations, and Contracts.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of achieving positive outcomes through team collaboration in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to utilize procurement tools to achieve financial objectives.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated with a drive for improvement and a commitment to high performance standards.
  • Collaborative mindset, valuing diverse perspectives and incorporating them into decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messages for various audiences.
  • Negotiation skills for supplier agreements.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and MRP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
