About the Role

Bayer is seeking an experienced and results-driven Area General Manager to lead our Oncology business in the Pacific Northwest region. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and delivering top-line targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to drive revenue growth and market share in the region.
  • Lead a high-performing team of sales representatives, key account managers, and other specialized roles to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical, and market access, to ensure alignment and effective execution of business plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, large regional, area, and national accounts to drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize revenue growth and market share.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform business decisions.
  • Manage budgets, negotiate for resources, and maximize return on investment to drive business results.
  • Lead national workstreams, manage competing priorities, and ensure collective business needs are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the commercial pharmaceutical/biotech sector with roles of increasing responsibility in sales, account management, market access, brand management, commercial operations, medical, etc.
  • People leadership and/or cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated strength in coaching/mentoring teams/peers and helping others to meet or exceed their goals, targets, and other responsibilities.
  • High level of business and financial acumen and ability to identify strategies with greatest business impact.
  • Thorough understanding of health systems, customer segments, regional market dynamics, and KOL development within the therapeutic area(s).
  • Willing and able to travel routinely on a weekly basis.
  • Current/prior experience leading specialized support teams (e.g., FRMs, KAMs, Clinical Educators, etc.) and/or leadership positions managing multiple levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading national workstreams, with proven ability to manage competing priorities and collective business needs.
  • Experience in working in or part of operational roles such as incentive compensation planning, learning and development, medical, account management, etc.
  • Deep understanding of national & regional business strategies, with proven ability to influence field deployment strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oncology expertise preferred.
  • Experience in managing budgets, negotiating for resources, and maximizing return on investment preferred.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams strongly preferred.
What We Offer

Bayer offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $226,359 to $339,538, as well as additional benefits such as health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
