Bayer is seeking an experienced and results-driven Area General Manager to lead our Oncology business in the Pacific Northwest region. Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to drive revenue growth and market share in the region.
- Lead a high-performing team of sales representatives, key account managers, and other specialized roles to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive performance outcomes and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with healthcare practitioners, health systems, and key opinion leaders to drive customer and patient-centric outcomes.
- Manage a cost base and make necessary trade-offs to maximize impact.
- Oversee the allocation of specialized support resources and provide directional guidance to ensure effective deployment.
- Participate in operational committees and workstream teams to represent the Oncology field organization and influence field deployment strategies.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the commercial pharmaceutical/biotech sector with roles of increasing responsibility in sales, account management, market access, brand management, commercial operations, medical, etc.
- People leadership and/or cross-functional leadership experience.
- Demonstrated strength in coaching/mentoring teams/peers and helping others to meet or exceed their goals, targets, and other responsibilities.
- High level of business and financial acumen and ability to identify strategies with greatest business impact.
- Thorough understanding of health systems, customer segments, regional market dynamics, and KOL development within the therapeutic area(s).
- Willing and able to travel routinely on a weekly basis.
- Current/prior experience leading specialized support teams and/or leadership positions managing multiple levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority in a matrixed organization.
- Experience in working in or part of operational roles such as incentive compensation planning, learning and development, medical, account management, etc.
- Deep understanding of national & regional business strategies, with proven ability to influence field deployment strategies.
- Oncology expertise preferred.
- Experience in managing budgets, negotiating for resources, and maximizing the return on investment preferred.
- Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams strongly preferred.
Bayer offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $226,359 to $339,538, as well as additional benefits such as health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
