Job Overview

As an Addiction Recovery Counselor at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you will deliver exceptional direct and indirect care to individuals facing substance use challenges or other related disorders.

Compensation: $24/hr. to $30/hr.

Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, with shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients' levels of substance use and associated mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create and execute individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate educational and therapeutic group sessions addressing substance use and dual diagnosis issues.
  • Maintain communication with referral sources and relevant parties regarding patient progress.
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of patient discharge processes.
  • Engage in departmental and programmatic meetings to contribute to clinical and administrative discussions.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of clinical programs and services.
  • Provide support to the Needs Assessment and Referral Department as necessary.
  • Participate in professional development activities to foster personal growth.
Essential Skills:
  • Expertise in delivering individual and group therapy.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in treatment planning and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Effective public speaking skills, with a commitment to ethical care and confidentiality.
  • Capacity to establish therapeutic relationships with patients at various emotional stability levels, demonstrating self-control in challenging situations.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as CADC, SUDCC, or current RADT, SUDRC.
  • Preferred experience working with adults and adolescents facing substance use and co-occurring disorders.
