As an Addiction Recovery Counselor at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you will deliver exceptional direct and indirect care to individuals facing substance use challenges or other related disorders.
Compensation: $24/hr. to $30/hr.
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, with shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate patients' levels of substance use and associated mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create and execute individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate educational and therapeutic group sessions addressing substance use and dual diagnosis issues.
- Maintain communication with referral sources and relevant parties regarding patient progress.
- Oversee the coordination and execution of patient discharge processes.
- Engage in departmental and programmatic meetings to contribute to clinical and administrative discussions.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of clinical programs and services.
- Provide support to the Needs Assessment and Referral Department as necessary.
- Participate in professional development activities to foster personal growth.
- Expertise in delivering individual and group therapy.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Proficient in treatment planning and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Effective public speaking skills, with a commitment to ethical care and confidentiality.
- Capacity to establish therapeutic relationships with patients at various emotional stability levels, demonstrating self-control in challenging situations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as CADC, SUDCC, or current RADT, SUDRC.
- Preferred experience working with adults and adolescents facing substance use and co-occurring disorders.
