Become a vital member of the Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego team as an Addiction Recovery Counselor, where your expertise will be essential in delivering exceptional support to individuals grappling with substance use and mental health issues.

Compensation: $24/hr. to $30/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' substance use and mental health status
  • Develop and implement treatment strategies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Facilitate therapeutic group sessions focused on substance use and dual diagnosis
  • Work closely with referral sources to monitor patient progress
  • Oversee the patient discharge process
  • Engage in departmental meetings and contribute to program enhancement
  • Support clinical programs and services
  • Provide auxiliary services to the Needs Assessment and Referral Department
  • Participate in professional development activities

Essential Skills:

  • Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions
  • Exhibit strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Skilled in treatment planning and documentation
  • Communicate effectively while adhering to ethical standards
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients across various emotional states

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in CADC, SUDCC OR current RADT, SUDRC
  • Previous experience with substance use and co-occurring disorders is preferred
