About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Maitre d' to join our team at Virgin Hotels. As a key member of our fine dining restaurant, Costeno, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Experience: Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and ensure their needs are met throughout their dining experience.
  • Reservations Management: Manage reservations, including taking bookings, confirming reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize restaurant capacity.
  • Table Management: Strategically plan and assign tables to balance server workloads and accommodate guest preferences.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with guests by anticipating their needs, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly, and providing personalized recommendations.
  • Communication: Collaborate closely with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient service delivery.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the dining area.
  • Guest Complaints: Handle guest complaints and feedback with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure the dining area is always presented immaculately.
  • Flexibility: Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in multiple languages considered an asset.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate needs and over-deliver, creatively solve problems, and change direction as needed.
Background
  • Work Authorization: Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years previous fine dining experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests and teammates/management alike.
