Crozier Fine Arts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Art Handler to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Art Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of art and cultural artifacts to and from museums, galleries, and private venues.
Key Responsibilities- Art Handling and Logistics: Handle, move, wrap, pack, and crate art objects, decorative arts, and/or furniture using Crozier's approved techniques and materials.
- Project Management: Plan, organize, and pack trucks to ensure the utmost safety of objects during transit, and conduct inspection reports to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, guide, and coach a team of 3-6 Art Handlers for success during on-site projects, and act as an onsite liaison between clients and company management.
- Strategy and Decision-Making: Determine strategy for projects, particularly when senior staff are not on site, and make decisions to ensure the safe and successful completion of projects.
- Experience: 3-5 years of prior art handling experience in a gallery, museum, art transportation, or commercial fine art space.
- Team Lead Experience: Prior team lead, supervisor, or training experience preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Industry-standard knowledge of techniques and materials for packing, crating, installing, and uninstalling art and cultural artifacts.
- Skills: Effective communication, attention to detail, discretion, follow-through, self-motivation, and team player.
- Physical Demands: Valid driver's license, able to travel to regional locations for onsite work, and willing to work flexible hours based on project needs.
- Competitive Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, paid bi-weekly.
