Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Server/Waiter/Waitress to join our team at Jean-Georges Restaurant. As a key member of our dining room staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional table service to our guests, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate Guest Needs: Anticipate the needs of our guests and provide personalized service to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Menu Expertise: Describe the selection of food and beverage menu items to guests, highlighting the origin, taste, and preparation methods.
  • Order Communication: Communicate guest orders to the kitchen using our point-of-sales system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Food Timing Coordination: Expertly coordinate food timing between courses to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Anticipate guest needs to ascertain satisfaction and respond promptly to any concerns or requests.
  • Upselling and Payment Processing: Ability to upsell and properly process payments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Section Maintenance: Maintain assigned section with urgency while multitasking and observing the entire dining room.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of restaurant experience, with fine dining and high-volume experience required.
  • Passion for Food and Service: A passion for food, wine, and service, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Organization and Communication Skills: Strong organization skills, with the ability to deliver unsurpassed hospitality and guest experience.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with mastery of tableside etiquette.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully, consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Compensation

The base pay range for this position is minimum wage, with a tip credit taken when applicable. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including prior employment history, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
