Role Summary
The Customer Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to our clientele. This position is designed for individuals who excel in customer interaction and are adept at addressing various banking needs. Responsibilities include providing front-line customer service, managing account openings and closures, and identifying opportunities for sales and cross-selling.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales and service objectives by actively participating in banking sales initiatives, building strong relationships with customers, and utilizing sales and service tools effectively.
- Process account openings, closures, and maintenance in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring a thorough understanding of the training materials provided.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of Old Second's products and services to guide customers in selecting appropriate banking solutions, including more complex offerings like IRAs and loans.
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards to help the branch achieve top ratings in customer satisfaction surveys.
- Utilize cross-training as a Teller to assist with basic transactions, including cashing checks and processing deposits and withdrawals, while adhering to all operational procedures.
- Stay informed about compliance regulations and complete all required training to ensure adherence to internal and external standards.
- Ensure operational accuracy and compliance with various regulations, including record-keeping and customer identification protocols.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work hours, including opening and closing the branch as necessary, and be willing to assist at other locations as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant experience in banking, customer service, or sales.
- Must obtain NMLS registration within 60 days of starting the role and fulfill all training requirements.
- On-site presence is required to perform the duties of this position.
