Job Title: Front Desk Agent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team at The Lodge in Sonoma. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to check-out.

Responsibilities:

  • Process guest arrivals and departures, ensuring accurate and timely information and services.
  • Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
  • Calculate and post monies, receipts, and guest accounts using accurate cash handling methods and procedures.
  • Courteously answer inquiries and accept reservations, communicating hotel rates and information, and using suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying up-to-date on in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses.
  • Operate PBX equipment to provide guests with timely and efficient service.
  • Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required, but past experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills is preferred.
  • Must be fluent in oral and written English.
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
  • Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, particularly when performing multiple tasks.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to read written communiques and monochrome computer screen.
  • Must be able to operate computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards for cash handling and paperwork processing.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, work on more than one task at a time, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • 90% of shift is standing, with occasional bending and kneeling required while filing.
  • Mobility - must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients.

Environment:

Prolonged standing at an indoor, thermostatically climate-controlled work station under florescent lighting. Work inside 95%.

Salary: USD $24.21/Hr.
