Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our team at Medical Network of Alaska. As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth flow of patients through our specialty clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track and coordinate all patient referrals to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure complete and accurate registration.
  • Communicate with third-party referral sources to obtain necessary information and data.
  • Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner and that all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Verify insurance benefits and prior authorization requirements with insurance companies.
  • Schedule new patients after all required information has been received.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicate patient updates between specialty clinics and referring sources.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must reside in or near Wasilla, Alaska.
  • General knowledge of EMR software and Outlook programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with customers and employees.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, and talk and hear regularly, and occasionally sit, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
