**Job Title:** Sales Manager for Weddings and Social Events

**Reports To:** General Manager

**Department:** Sales/Marketing

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Manager to oversee the booking and execution of all weddings and social events at the Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of maximizing revenue in rooms, public space, food, and beverage, while ensuring exceptional customer service and quality of operation.

Key Responsibilities

**Responsibilities:**

  • Responsible for booking and executing all weddings and social events, ensuring maximum revenue and exceptional customer service.
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner, preparing proposals and contracts according to company guidelines.
  • Conduct initial consultations with clients to discuss wedding packages, venue options, and entertainment preferences.
  • Coordinate room blocks with the Front Desk Manager and ensure all departments receive accurate information on time.
  • Monitor event activities, coordinate outside vendors, and ensure all setup and service requirements are met.
  • Collect all deposits and payments, and verify and approve final invoices to guests.
  • Collaborate with other sales staff to optimize function space, services, and products to achieve maximum revenue.
  • Analyze sales and catering statistics to propose strategies for promoting corporate and social events.
  • Participate in achieving financial results for the Sales/Marketing department, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate files and tracing systems for all events, and perform all necessary administrative functions.
  • Represent the hotel at trade association meetings and participate in community organizations to promote its products.
Requirements

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum 2 years of hotel experience and a high school diploma; a college degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of restaurant and hotel operations, banquet facilities, and revenue management.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel, and ability to produce a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain a professional appearance, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, read and follow verbal and written instructions, and travel as required for sales trips.
