Job OverviewPosition Title: Food & Beverage Supervisor
Reports To: General Manager
Department: Food & Beverage

Position Summary:

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is accountable for the comprehensive oversight and leadership of front-of-house operations within the Food and Beverage sector.


Supervision Received:

Reports directly to the General Manager.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that operational goals are met across the lounge, restaurant, and catering services. This includes:
    • Delivering knowledgeable, consistent, and engaging service.
    • Maintaining a clean and well-kept environment.
    • Upholding merchandising standards, including ambiance, table settings, and staff attire.
  • Staff Management: Achieve staffing objectives for both restaurant and catering operations, including:
    • Recruiting, selecting, and scheduling a high-caliber team.
    • Providing thorough orientation, training, and ongoing development for all staff members.
    • Conducting regular performance evaluations and offering on-the-job coaching.
    • Implementing appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Financial Stewardship: Drive financial performance for both restaurant and catering, ensuring:
    • Annual increases in sales and guest counts.
    • Maximization of annual gross operating profit.
  • Administrative Duties: Execute essential administrative tasks, including:
    • Maintaining the accuracy of the POS system.
    • Reporting safety hazards to the General Manager promptly.
    • Ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
    • Adhering to all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships within the organization and the broader community, including:
    • Strengthening partnerships with food, wine, and hospitality industry stakeholders.
    • Representing the restaurant positively at events and meetings.
    • Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of experience in high-quality food and beverage operations, with at least one year in a management role, is required. Additional qualifications include:

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships with peers and supervisors.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to interact courteously with staff and guests.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Eligibility to obtain necessary work permits.
