Service Equipment Technician

TransForce offers competitive compensation of $23.80 per hour for a full-time position during the day shift. This role does not require a CDL and operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

As a Service Equipment Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation, setup, repair, and ongoing maintenance of various equipment including vending machines, cooling systems, and beverage dispensers at client locations. You will also be responsible for the repair of sealed refrigeration systems. This position requires local and/or state refrigeration certifications along with EPA certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on marketing equipment.
  • Manage product loading and unloading as necessary.
  • Perform maintenance on sealed refrigeration systems.
  • Complete all required refrigerant documentation in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Provide customers with guidance on basic equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Install equipment, including routing lines and connecting water and gas supplies.
  • Adjust installed equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Travel to job sites, assess situations, and execute necessary repairs which may involve plumbing, electrical work, refrigeration, and carpentry.
  • Gather accurate equipment and customer information.
  • Replace old parts with new components and maintain inventory on the service vehicle.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients during service calls.
  • Document service activities using electronic devices after each visit.
  • Transport various items related to repairs and recycling.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Follow driving regulations while operating the company vehicle.
  • Maintain OEM certifications.
  • Exhibit regular and reliable attendance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be at least 21 years old if a CDL is required.
  • Possess a valid CDL license with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable).
  • Pass DOT Physical and Road-test if required.
  • Comply with DOT Regulations.
  • Hold applicable state/local and EPA refrigeration certifications.
  • Ability to pass refrigeration certification Type I/Type II practices (if applicable).

Helpful Experience:

  • Experience with mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repairing appliances.
  • Customer service experience, including resolving issues and maintaining communication.
  • Knowledge of basic refrigeration systems and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems and equipment installation.
