Position Overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of various construction and mechanical equipment, including trucks, trailers, batch plants, paving machines, and more. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment at different job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring repairs are both economical and durable.
  • Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective components using hand tools and hoists.
  • Maintain and repair heavy machinery and vehicles across the organization.
  • Perform routine servicing of vehicles and equipment, including oil changes and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Order necessary parts and maintain accurate records of purchases and invoices.
  • Utilize a laptop for diagnostics and internal work order management.
  • Adjust and test equipment to ensure optimal performance before and after repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the field service vehicle.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • 2-5 years of relevant field service experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines and technical manuals.
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and typing accurately.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL and the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
