Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Crane Technician to join our team at our Salt Lake City, UT branch. As a Mobile Crane Technician, you will be responsible for performing on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on mobile cranes and rolling stock equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mobile cranes and rolling stock equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety-related issues, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, using your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues.
  • Generate sales leads during service calls, identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell our products and services.
  • Accurately and neatly document all work performed on service reports, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Inspect cranes and other mobile equipment to identify potential issues and recommend preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Travel may be required within the Casper/Gillette/Cheyenne region, with a company-provided work vehicle.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel, and gas engine theory, as well as DC automotive power.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in mobile equipment repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Must supply own standard tools, including wrenches up to 1", pliers, screwdrivers, and a socket set to 1".
  • Aptitude for both electrical and mechanical environments, with familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven commitment to safety, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Comfort with working at heights, with a willingness to take on physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience with Variable Frequency drives and PLC programming is a plus.
  • Experience working with or around mobile cranes, overhead cranes, or other heavy equipment is a plus.
