Key Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst

  • Support the collection and examination of financial data to execute various processes, including budget formulation, variance analysis for supported divisions, preparation of internal and external reports, and identification of data discrepancies. Analyze financial information to detect negative trends and propose solutions to alleviate financial repercussions.
  • Utilize knowledge of financial regulations and principles, along with company policies and procedures, to address frequently occurring challenges.
  • Contribute to financial analysis and provide support to the team during the annual budgeting cycle, as well as assist with current year and five-year forecasting.
  • Deliver timely and precise assistance to clients within the supported business area, which includes interpreting account codes or financial statements, providing project status updates, and resolving work order issues.
  • Engage in or assist with special projects as assigned.


Qualifications for the Senior Financial Analyst

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or CFA certification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in financial analysis, particularly within the energy sector.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and precision.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and regulatory standards pertinent to the energy industry.
