About the Role:
The Senior Financial Analyst/Financial Partner serves as a vital strategic advisor, employing financial modeling, forecasting, and trend analysis to deliver insights and support to various schools and departments. This role encompasses conducting strategic evaluations related to budgetary allocations and directly assisting school Principals and Department leaders in financial planning and resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly budget status reports for schools and departments, providing necessary support to identify potential issues.
- Engage in research and apply analytical techniques to address complex challenges. Develop and implement research methodologies to analyze systems, programs, datasets, and reports, enhancing the effectiveness of district initiatives.
- Maintain open communication with key stakeholders, presenting data and recommendations to highlight areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with functional experts, fostering mentorship and strong teamwork among all involved resources.
- Guide department leaders and managers in the establishment and management of comprehensive financial models.
- Work alongside school and central administrative staff to boost community involvement in the budgeting process.
- Partner with the assigned Collaborative Director and HR School Partner to cultivate a leadership network.
- Facilitate regular discussions with clerical, administrative, and central administration staff regarding the financial status of departments or schools.
- Provide training to clerical and administrative staff on preparing for financial reviews, managing year-end balances, and utilizing various financial accounts effectively.
- Develop training materials for presentations to school or department staff during critical fiscal periods.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in budgeting, accounting, and data analysis, preferably within a governmental context.
- Experience in delivering training to diverse employee groups.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, graphing, macros, and formulas; familiarity with Google Sheets is advantageous.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and mathematical operations.
- Ability to communicate policies and procedures effectively to staff.
- Demonstrated integrity in handling confidential information.
- Willingness to engage in efforts to promote racial and educational equity within the community.
- Must reside in Colorado while employed.
