Lead Financial Analyst


Position Overview

The Lead Financial Analyst will be instrumental in enhancing the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions within the organization. This role entails evaluating financial information, crafting forecasts, and delivering insights to facilitate strategic decision-making. The preferred candidate will possess significant experience in the energy sector and a robust grasp of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Financial Analyst

  • Support the collection and examination of financial data to execute processes such as budget formulation, variance analysis for designated areas, preparation of internal and external reports, and identification of data discrepancies. Evaluate financial data to pinpoint negative trends and propose solutions to alleviate financial repercussions.
  • Utilize knowledge of financial regulations and principles, along with company policies and procedures, to address commonly occurring challenges.
  • Assist in financial analysis and provide support to the team during the annual budgeting process, as well as for current year and five-year forecasts.
  • Deliver timely and precise assistance to clients within the supported business area, including but not limited to interpreting account codes or financial statements, providing project status updates, and resolving work order issues.
  • Engage in or assist with special projects as assigned.


Qualifications for the Lead Financial Analyst

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or CFA certification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in financial analysis, particularly within the energy sector.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a sharp focus on detail and precision.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex financial data to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and regulatory standards pertinent to the energy industry.
