Position Overview:
As a Front Desk Agent, you will engage with guests in a professional and courteous manner, providing them with timely and accurate information and services. You will handle inquiries related to reservations, hotel details, and guest concerns, ensuring a welcoming experience for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and execute established check-in procedures daily, utilizing both manual and computerized systems to ensure guest satisfaction and room assignments as requested.
- Facilitate guest departures by adhering to established procedures for closing accounts and preparing rooms for subsequent guests.
- Accurately manage financial transactions, including posting charges and maintaining precise hotel records to ensure smooth check-out processes.
- Respond to inquiries and accept reservations both in person and via telephone, effectively communicating hotel rates and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance occupancy and revenue.
- Maintain excellent customer relations by staying informed about in-house and local events to provide knowledgeable responses to guest inquiries.
- Operate the PBX system, managing incoming and outgoing calls, scheduling wake-up calls, and paging guests to deliver efficient service.
- Handle cash transactions at the front desk, ensuring compliance with hotel banking policies and maintaining accountability for personal cash drawers.
- Exhibit a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, contributing to a positive guest experience.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Previous experience with FOSSE is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills and standard cash handling procedures, with familiarity in computerized cash register systems.
- Experience in direct public interaction, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
- Ability to handle various customer service challenges with tact and understanding, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include the ability to read written communications and operate various office equipment. The position requires standing for the majority of the shift, with occasional bending and lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
This role involves prolonged standing in a climate-controlled indoor environment, primarily under fluorescent lighting.
