Job Title: Center Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Center Manager to join our team at the University of Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the de Tornyay Center for Healthy Aging, including budgeting, financial management, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex budgets, including grant projects, endowments, and gifts
  • Develop and implement an annual plan for the center, including strategic planning and budgeting
  • Supervise and evaluate temporary and part-time staff and student assistants
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary and inter-institutional funds management among multiple UW Center and related joint activities
  • Establish and administer sub-budgets, each with human subjects, university, and federal granting agency compliance and tracking requirements
  • Manage the annual process for high-quality graduate and undergraduate Healthy Aging Research scholarships
  • Assist in recruitment, counseling, and communication with students, faculty, and donors
  • Collaborate with the center Public Information Specialist to facilitate outreach efforts and public communications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, or related field
  • At least 3 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact, discretion, and diplomacy
  • Exhibit a proactive, service-oriented manner and ability to deal effectively with a diverse and demanding client base
