About the Role

Nesco Resource is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Chief Engineer to join their team in a rapidly growing customer in Seattle, WA. This is a full-time role that will report directly to the Facility Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Management: Provide maintenance support and management for assigned Data Centers, ensuring 100% uptime in Colocation data center critical facilities.
  • Standard Maintenance Requirements: Draft and maintain Standard Maintenance Requirements (SMRs) and periodicities for each datacenter, building, or campus, based on local and other code requirements, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure operating parameters and SMR processes, procedures, and frequencies are completed as prescribed, and maintain the reliability of all mechanical systems.
  • Project Management: Contribute to creating tracking and maintaining operational budget for facility, estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projects, and assist in the change management process.
  • Vendor Management: Establish maintenance contracts with vendors as necessary for performance of all required maintenance, and direct, oversee, and inspect the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Documentation and Training: Draft and maintain Method of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) governing preventative maintenance of critical equipment, and train staff on all critical infrastructure and emergency operating procedures.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate complex technical information to multiple people with various levels of technical knowledge, and be available via phone for off-hours emergencies that require technical assistance.
  • Risk Management: Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) planning and tracking to assess all possible risk to the facility, and monitor LCD capacity to track available cooling, power, and space for future use.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), bachelor's degree and/or professional/technical certification in a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Comprehensive knowledge of industrial HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, Fire/Life safety systems, and control systems with a heavy emphasis on mechanical, and at least 5 years of experience in a Data Center environment.
  • Skills: Strong project management and supervisory skills, with experience in building automation systems and risk analysis.
