Position: Junior Portfolio Manager - Systematic Strategies

Business Unit: Blackstone Credit & Insurance

Role Overview:

The selected candidate will oversee corporate bond portfolios utilizing a systematic investment methodology. Training will be provided to interpret model portfolio outputs and prioritize trading activities to ensure compliance with relevant constraints while maximizing opportunities for alpha generation. Collaborating with senior portfolio managers, the candidate will be responsible for generating orders and allocations. Additionally, the candidate will gain expertise in managing rate, currency, and funding risks across various portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilizing portfolio management tools to assess risks, prioritize, and allocate trades.
  • Collaborating with the trading desk to evaluate market conditions and develop execution strategies.
  • Conducting data validations and reviewing model outputs.
  • Assisting in cash management, as well as portfolio interest rate and currency hedging.
  • Contributing to portfolio analysis and generating client content.
  • Participating in investment committees and liaising with various teams to analyze market and fundamental trends.
Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have a proven track record of excellence in their previous endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate credit markets.
  • Prior experience in portfolio management or trading.
  • A quantitative investment mindset where trade ideas are primarily model-generated.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A commitment to risk management and compliance, adhering to the highest ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, SQL, Python, and Java.
  • A keen interest in systematic investment management and a desire to learn.
  • Availability to work market hours.


Compensation:

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. Actual salary will be determined based on various factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additional compensation may be provided in conjunction with the role.
