Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SBA Portfolio Manager to join our team at CTBC Bank. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SBA loan portfolio, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and that our bank's risk management practices are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting (60%)
    • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans and prepare credit analyses for each transaction.
    • Underwrite all types of commercial loans by analyzing corporate and personal financials, completing borrower and industry due diligence, completing Anti-Money Laundering/Know Your Customer (AML/KYC) checks, and drafting credit memos (CRs).
    • Review loan packages and analyze credit information, making a detailed assessment of an applicant's creditworthiness.
    • Monitor various loan activities, track, and collect loan conditions, including financial statements, and perform Credit Reviews.
    • Cooperate with underwriting, loan processing, appraisal, and relevant departments and provide assistance.
  • Portfolio Management (40%)
    • Monitor and maintain the overall loan portfolio processes, procedures, and practices to support the Team Leader.
    • Work with the Team Leader on specific projects, including portfolio reviews, updating of credit processes within the portfolio, risk rating policy, etc.
    • Review, analyze, consolidate market, industry, and risk analyses and data to develop SBA loan portfolios in the expertise industry and segment.
    • Assess and review SBA loan portfolios, measurement indexes, and provide inputs in the expertise industry and segment.
    • Interface with origination and product specialists to review credit strategy and develop proactive plans for all assigned portfolios.
    • Independently analyze and evaluate the risks in the segment, conduct risk selection, oversee the risk of individual loans, control the quality of loan approvals, and administer the performance of loan continuations.
    • Assess and minimize risks on more complex SBA loans by following operational standard procedures, identifying suspicious/inconsistent activities, notifying appropriate parties, and taking appropriate actions.
    • Measure credit risks, portfolio stress tests, and analyze collaterals as applicable to loan structure and terms.
    • Drive loan terminations, securing internal/external parties' understanding, compliance, and completion.
    • Lead remedial credit management and analyses of structured transactions.
    • Prepare regular reports and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Assist the Team Leader to coach junior Loan Portfolio Officers' skills of identifying problems and issues, managing risks.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business-related field is preferred.
    • 8+ years of experience in dealing with SBA loans is preferred.
    • Ability to analyze, underwrite, and administer SBA loan portfolios.
    • Strong credit and financial analyzing, underwriting, sales, customer service, and communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial lending guidelines and productions, all applicable State and Federal regulations.
    • Ability to analyze and consolidate data to develop SBA loan portfolio processes, procedures, and to implement practices.
    • Ability to independently negotiate large amounts of loan contracts and minimize asset quality.
    • Ability to apply computer software programs in evaluating financial information and maintaining loan information.
    • Formal credit training and CFA or related certification is preferred.
    Work Environment

Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $65,000.00/Yr. - USD $125,000.00/Yr plus full benefits. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
