Position Overview

Peterson Cat is seeking a Parts Sales Consultant.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Parts Sales Consultant is tasked with delivering exceptional service to Peterson clients, including in-person, telephonic, and online inquiries by researching, pricing, sourcing, and ensuring timely follow-up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following outlines the essential functions of this role, but does not limit the tasks that may be assigned. Management may allocate or reassign responsibilities as necessary. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering a "Customer First" experience through understanding client needs and surpassing their expectations.
  • Making valuable recommendations to clients regarding parts through proactive sales techniques.
  • Utilizing marketing initiatives with existing and potential clients to promote parts-related opportunities.
  • Fostering beneficial relationships with established clients while cultivating new business.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of company products, services, and parts, including their pricing structures.
  • Actively engaging as a user of the Five9 Call Center software.
  • Participating in all team meetings and discussions.
  • Supporting customer activation objectives.
  • Completing all necessary transaction documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Following up with clients regarding parts sourcing and estimated shipping dates for back-ordered items.
  • Researching, recommending, and providing pricing for parts to both external and internal clients as needed.
  • Keeping current reference materials updated to enhance company information databases.
  • Communicating client needs to the appropriate sales and support representatives.
  • Staying updated on all assigned training materials and requesting additional training as necessary.
  • Assisting in other departmental activities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintaining regular, punctual attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in parts or sales, preferably within a heavy industrial context; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
