Our team provides state-approved identification credentials, oversees meal plan programs, and manages debit programs. About the Position

The Assistant Director, Mason Card Office, plays a crucial role in the management of Mason Money transactions, including deposits, charges, and refunds. This position collaborates with departments across campus to configure cards, monitor usage, and document payments. The Assistant Director also supports the development of policies and procedures, communicates with the campus community, and provides training to student staff.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Mason Money transactions, including depositing, charging, and refunds.
  • Work with departments to configure cards, monitor usage, and document payments.
  • Refund credit/debit for students leaving Mason and research and correct charges as needed.
  • Manage off-campus merchants, including initial contact, obtaining signed agreements, and obtaining G numbers.
  • Provide insight into vendor relationships and report any problems or issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with the team on meal planning, including creating reporting and billing files, setting up meal plans, and reconciling daily/monthly reports.
  • Provide leadership and support on office operations, including customer service, email, phone, and face-to-face communications.
  • Support the training, hiring, access, and scheduling of student hires.
  • Assist the Director and support internal meetings.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems, including word processing, managing files, and records.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Previous professional experience (typically three or more years) in the management and supervision of employees.
  • Higher Education experience in a Campus Card System or a Corporate Card Services program.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education, knowledge of working in a Campus Card System or a Corporate Card Services program.
  • Knowledge of Atrium.
