About the Role:

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our transportation services, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable service to our customers. This includes managing a team of employees, overseeing contract assets, and maintaining a strong relationship with clients and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven relationship builder with employees, clients, and the community
  • Set commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team
  • Responsible for identifying and developing business growth opportunities
  • Optimize return on assets deployed within the business
  • Ensure services are provided within budget and develop action plans to improve operational efficiencies
  • Responsible for determining and delivering business unit budget
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and Transdev corporate safety standards
  • Responsible for all staff management, development, and training
  • Ensure effective environmental compliance and sustainability management
  • Provide complete and accurate data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting

Requirements:

  • Completion of a four (4) year college degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years as a successful General Manager of a project of a similar size and scope
  • Labor relations experience

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
  • Thorough knowledge of ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation
  • Requires 3-5 years of recent and relevant direct experience managing all aspects of a para-transit and fixed-route service
  • Prior experience working with collective bargaining agreement
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system's staff and operational departments
  • Ability to build solid and maintain strong working relationships with clients
  • Ability to manage cost control and financial budget
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of technology, apps, Wi-Fi, and understanding of transportation technology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to details
  • Ability to work effectively with union partners, including labor grievances and negotiations

Travel Requirement:

The General Manager will be required to travel occasionally for business purposes.
