Associate Director of Food and Nutrition Services

This leadership position plays a vital role in the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services in an Acute Care Hospital. The Associate Director of Food and Nutrition Services will be responsible for all foodservice-related activities, including patient care, non-patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and hospital-related activities. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and entrepreneurial manager who is constantly seeking innovative ways to conduct business.
Key Responsibilities:
The Associate Director will direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs while maintaining excellent relationships with patients and the Client, as well as other departments within the Hospital. Additionally, the Associate Director will promote the professional growth and development of their team and foster strong inter-departmental relations, integrating the food-service department with the facility plan of operations.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or a related field, or an A.A. Degree plus three years of directly related experience. Certification as a Dietary Manager or Registered Dietitian is also desirable. The candidate should have a minimum of one to three years of hospital or adult home/care experience, depending on formal degree or training. Three to five years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control is also required. The candidate should have strong knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation. Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable. The candidate should possess strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills, as well as excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills. Proficiency in computer skills is also required. ServSafe Certification is a must.
